WASHINGTON – The NRSC is launching digital display ads urging red state Democrats to vote yes on the nomination of Gina Haspel as Director of the CIA.
The ads, which will run on Facebook and Twitter, urge voters to contact their Democratic Senator to demand action on Haspel’s confirmation. After attempting to block Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s nomination, Senate Democrats have once again resorted to playing party politics to oppose the President’s nominees at any cost.
Now that Haspel, who has been called “quite possibly the most qualified person ever nominated to lead the CIA,” has completed her hearing, red state Democrats have no excuse not to tell voters where they stand on Haspel’s confirmation. The ads will target the following Senators who have yet to announce their vote: Bill Nelson (FL), Claire McCaskill (MO), Heidi Heitkamp (ND), Sherrod Brown (OH), Tammy Baldwin (WI).

“Voters deserve senators who will put national security first,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Instead of playing partisan games, red state Democrats should let their constituents know how they plan to vote and if they will put our nation’s security above politics.”
