Washington, D.C. — Following the news of Mark Kelly’s latest business ties to the Chinese Communist Party, the National Republican Senatorial Committee is today calling on Kelly to release the list of his Kelly Aerospace Consulting, LLC clients.
According to Kelly’s personal financial disclosure, Kelly earned over $1.5 million from Kelly Aerospace Consulting, LLC. His client list has never been released nor is information publicly accessible.
“Arizonans know virtually nothing about how Mark Kelly earned an over $1.5 million income from Kelly Aerospace Consulting,” said NRSC spokesperson Joanna Rodriguez. “As more details come to light about Kelly’s financial and business ties to Chinese communist investors and other foreign entities, Kelly should be completely transparent with the people he wants to represent.”
Kelly’s business ties created controversy following Real Clear Politics and The Arizona Republic reports that the surveillance space balloon company Kelly co-founded, World View Enterprises, is partly owned by an arm of the Chinese Communist Party. A third report from the Washington Free Beacon, exposed a different company, Boom Technology, where Kelly served on the Advisory Board, also accepted investments from a state-financed Chinese company.
Last year, Kelly was forced to return $55,000 to the United Arab Emirates to reimburse a payment they’d made to him for a paid-speech. Shortly after, Buzzfeed News reported Kelly’s staff tried to hide a $65,000 fee he was paid by a public university.
