WASHINGTON, D.C. — During National Police Week, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) launched a new digital ad highlighting President Trump and Senate Republicans’ work to combat Iowa Democrats’ pro-crime agenda.
- Zach Wahls said that the killing of black people by police was “not a bad apple issue.” He also voted against legislation that would have increased penalties for assaulting law enforcement officers and against legislation that would have prohibited funding to cities or counties that defunded the police.
- Josh Turek voted against a bill that would have cracked down on local officials who refuse to work with ICE.
“As Zach Wahls and Josh Turek prioritize dangerous illegal immigrants and want to defund the police, Republicans are working to keep criminals behind bars and make communities safe again,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell. “Zach Wahls and Josh Turek’s soft-on-crime policies are too dangerous for Iowans.”

Voice Over: “Thanks to Republicans, violent crime is at all-time lows, and American communities are safer.
“But Iowa Democrats want to turn back the clock and bring back Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer’s pro-crime agenda that vilifies law enforcement, denies them crucial resources, and prioritizes dangerous illegal immigrants.
“America can’t afford another Democrat crime wave. Reject Iowa Democrats, and stop the anti-police agenda.”
