The NRSC launched a new TV ad in Pennsylvania, “Messenger.” The ad targets Katie McGinty, who as Department of Environmental Protection Secretary, funneled millions of dollars to the organization that employed her husband. The ad is running in the Philadelphia media market beginning today.

“Katie McGinty’s decision to funnel taxpayer-funded grants to an organization that employed her husband inspired not only an ethics investigation, but a unanimous judgement that her behavior was inappropriate. No matter McGinty’s role, one factor has remained consistent throughout her career – ‘Shady Katie’ places self-service above public service.”

“Today, I’m delivering the truth.

“When Katie McGinty was head of PA’s Department of Environmental Protection, she handed out millions in taxpayer grants.

“McGinty funneled $2.8 million dollars’ worth to two organizations.

“Where her husband just happened to work.

“The state’s ethics commission didn’t think so.

“They investigated…and ruled that McGinty’s actions violate the law.

“And there’s plenty more.”
