Washington, D.C. –  Following today’s news that Raphael Warnock announced his candidacy for U.S. Senate, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released this statement:

“As the Democratic Party continues to embrace a socialist agenda, Raphael Warnock will be unable to distance himself from the radicals running for president,” said NRSC spokesperson Nathan Brand. “Warnock’s far-left positions are out-of-touch with Georgia voters and stand in sharp contrast with Kelly Loeffler’s conservative values.”

Warnock faces long odds as the Democratic vote in November will be divided up with Democrats Matt Lieberman and Ed Tarver. Warnock was the fourth choice of national Democrats after Stacey Abrams, Sally Yates, and Jen Jordan all declined to run.
