In a tweet today, former Philadephia Mayor Michael Nutter weighed in on the most recent battle between presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders.
[In case you missed it – Clinton contends that Sanders “has been a regular presence at luxurious Democratic fundraising retreats” hosted by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) which is in part funded by Wall Street PACs.]
But Nutter’s contribution to this scuffle holds particular significance in Pennsylvania…
The same “luxurious retreat” that Sanders is getting attention for attending, was also attended by Democratic Senate Candidate Katie McGinty, who Nutter endorsed, yielding this headline:
Not only is McGinty being brought into the national democrat’s civil war by someone who endorsed her, but it’s worth remembering that McGinty attended this retreat while she was still being paid by Pennsylvania taxpayers as Governor Wolf’s Chief of Staff.
Not only was McGinty still Wolf’s Chief of Staff, but she boarded the chartered jet to the fundraiser with more than fifteen democratic Senators during the still ongoing budget impasse.
McGinty’s attendance at the fundraiser prompted Governor Wolf to weigh in, “We’ve both agreed we can’t let this be a distraction.”
Looks like McGinty’s chartered trips to fancy fundraisers is becoming a distraction once again.
