For seven years, millions of Americans have been cheated by the health care system under Obamacare. With premiums skyrocketing nationwide, health care markets are at the breaking point.

In a report released last month, HHS revealed premiums have increased steadily in each state using healthcare.gov since 2014. On average, premiums have risen nationally by an average of 105%. Costs have tripled in three states, Alabama, Alaska, and Oklahoma, where premiums rose by over 200%.

Premium increases in 2018 Democrats’ states:

  • West Virginia (Senator Joe Manchin): 169%
  • Missouri (Senator Claire McCaskill): 145%
  • Montana (Senator Jon Tester): 133%
  • Pennsylvania (Senator Bob Casey): 120%
  • Wisconsin (Senator Tammy Baldwin): 93%
  • Michigan (Senator Debbie Stabenow): 90%
  • Ohio (Senator Sherrod Brown): 86%
  • Florida (Senator Bill Nelson): 84%
  • Indiana (Senator Joe Donnelly): 74%
  • North Dakota (Senator Heidi Heitkamp): 44%By the numbers, premium increases have cost families an average of $476 more per month and $2,928 per year. By all accounts, premiums will continue to surge exponentially as health care providers try to adjust to Obamacare’s unstable exchange markets.Democrats promised the American people that premiums would not increase under the passage of Obamacare. But by voting for legislation that is not only fiscally irresponsible but structurally unsustainable, Democrats’ partisan agenda has caused the health care system to begin to collapse – and this is just the beginning.

“Senate Democrats are living in a parallel universe where they believe Obamacare is still the answer,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “But facts are facts. Obamacare premiums are costing American families thousands more per year with no sign of stabilizing in the future. Democrats are only interested in maintaining their failed legacy on Obamacare, and the American people are paying the steep price for it.”
