Today marks the one-year anniversary of President Barack Obama’s nuclear agreement with Iran, a deal hailed by the president with promises that “every pathway to a nuclear weapon is cut off” for the state sponsor of terrorism.
Predictably, Ann Kirkpatrick got on board with the Obama plan right away, voting immediately to approve it and offering her steadfast support at every step of the process. As with all of her party’s unpopular and toxic policies, Kirkpatrick didn’t second guess her decision to jeopardize national security as she turned her back on Arizona families.
And just as predictably, the Obama-Kirkpatrick Iran deal has failed to live up to its promises, with the United Nations chastising Iran for not complying with the nuclear agreement:
“Iran’s ballistic missile launches ‘are not consistent with the constructive spirit’ of a nuclear deal between Tehran and world powers, but it is up to the United Nations Security Council to decide if they violated a resolution, U.N. chief Ban Ki-moon said in a confidential report seen by Reuters on Thursday…‘While it is for the Security Council to interpret its own resolutions, I am concerned that those ballistic missile launches are not consistent with the constructive spirit demonstrated by the signing of the (Iran nuclear deal),’ he said.” (Michelle Nichols, “Iran Missile Tests ‘Not Consistent’ With Nuclear Deal Spirit: U.N. Report,” Reuters, 7/7/16)
The U.N.’s rebuke is just the latest evidence that the Iran deal has been a failure and only served to embolden the rogue state’s radical leaders. Iran presses forward with long-range missile tests and even took American troops into custody, all while it became clear that the Obama administration blatantly lied to and deceived the American public to get Congress on board with the deal.
But as the failures stack up, Kirkpatrick continues to side with Obama over Arizona. The message is clear – national security and safety is an afterthought to Kirkpatrick’s partisan loyalty.
