Washington, D.C. – Mark Kelly and Joe Biden’s Arizona border crisis is getting worse. After suffering through the worst December on-record, border patrol agents and Arizona border communities are preparing for even worse numbers in 2022. According to a new Reuters report, “U.S. border officials are preparing for as many as 9,000 border arrests per day by the spring […] In July 2021 – the peak of last year’s rise – daily migrant arrests averaged about 6,500…”

And where is Mark Kelly during this crisis? Certainly he is not visiting Yuma with Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to see the border crisis he created. Instead, Kelly is sitting on the sidelines, choosing to send strongly worded letters to Secretary Mayorkas and deflect blame on the federal government, which he forgets that he is a part of. LISTEN to Kelly’s latest attempt to ignore Arizona’s border crisis:

Mark Kelly: Well I mean it’s a constant negotiation with this Administration on the border. I’m on the phone with Alejandro Mayorkas the Secretary of Homeland Security all the time. I spoke to him yesterday and speaking to the administration. This is still a crisis. the federal government has failed Arizona and other border states on this issue for decades […]

As a senator, Mark Kelly surely knows that he is a member of the federal government. His votes to defund border security and to allow sanctuary cities that refuse to enforce immigration laws are what have failed Arizonans. Mark Kelly owns this border crisis, and it’s time for him to take responsibility.
