WASHINGTON, D.C. — Tomorrow, marks the one-year anniversary of Republicans resuming control of the U.S. Senate and the beginning of their first year of commonsense leadership working with President Trump to deliver for the American people. Republican senators have used their 53-seat majority to govern on behalf of the American people, and the results are already amounting to big dividends for all Americans.
“What a difference a year makes. Working alongside President Trump, Senate Republicans are delivering lower costs, a secure border, and economic opportunity,” said NRSC Chairman Tim Scott. “We’re building on the momentum of promises kept to protect our Senate Majority. The job isn’t finished yet.”
This year, Senate Republicans have delivered big wins for American working families and small businesses.
On Rebuilding the Economy After Four Years of Biden Inflation:
- Passed the Working Family Tax Cuts, guaranteeing Americans weren’t slammed with a $4.3 trillion tax hike
- Cut taxes by an average of $3,752 per filer in 2026
- Eliminated taxes on overtime and tips, putting more money back in hardworking Americans’ pockets
- Prioritized senior citizens through tax breaks on Social Security
- Put families first by increasing the child tax credit to $2,200 a year per child
- Created generational wealth for local farmers by increasing the estate tax exemption to $15 million per individual and $30 million for a couple
- Secured a prosperous future for the next generation with $1,000 Trump Accounts for children born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028
On Making Healthcare More Affordable:
- Supported legislation allowing up to 4 million more Americans to be eligible for health savings accounts (HSAs), helping individuals and families save money for medical needs
- Invested an additional $50 billion into America’s rural hospitals
- Approved the HALT Fentanyl Act, cracking down on the deadly trafficking of fentanyl across the country
On Securing the Border:
- Secured America’s borders by funding the remainder of construction for the border wall
- Put America first by allowing ICE to hire 10,000 new agents
- Voted to pass the Laken Riley Act, which simply puts Americans first and punishes dangerous illegal criminals
On Restoring American Military Strength:
- Strengthened America’s military by providing $150 billion for improvements, including funds for the Golden Dome project, shipbuilding, and strengthening America’s munitions
- Voted in support of the National Defense Authorization Act, aimed at funding America’s defense programs and supporting our men and women on the front lines
On Fulfilling the Mandate to Govern:
- Immediately got to work and spent nearly 80 more days in the Capitol on behalf of the American people when compared to the Schumer-led Democrat Senate in 2024
- Reopened the government and paid federal workers while Democrats prioritized free healthcare for illegal aliens and played politics with people’s lives
- Confirmed 417 of President Trump’s nominees since January, outpacing Joe Biden’s first year in office where he was only able to get 365 confirmations
