WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) is celebrating one year since Senator Susan Collins’ Social Security Fairness Act was signed into law with a new voter outreach effort highlighting a digital ad and website. The bipartisan law is getting millions of Americans and thousands of Mainers more money from Social Security.

“While Democrats continue to duke it out in their messy primary, Susan Collins is delivering for Maine,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell. “Thanks to her Social Security Fairness Act, over 25,000 Mainers are receiving their hard-earned Social Security benefits.”

Voice Over“Let’s talk facts.

“In January 2025, Senator Collins’ bipartisan legislation, the Social Security Fairness Act, was signed into law.

“So what does that mean?

“Millions of Americans including thousands in Maine are getting more money from Social Security.

“Teachers, firefighters, law enforcement officers, public servants, millions of Americans will now receive their full, hard-earned Social Security benefits.

“Before Senator Collins spearheaded this bipartisan effort, Americans with public pensions often couldn’t get full Social Security benefits due to two provisions.

“The Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset.

“But the Social Security Fairness Act repeals those laws giving millions of Americans and thousands of Mainers the money they deserve.

“Because Susan Collins fights to protect Social Security for Mainers.

“That’s a fact.”
