Today is the one year anniversary of President Trump signing the Laken Riley Act into law with the support of Senate Republicans. Laken Riley was a 22-year-old nursing student who was brutally murdered in Georgia by a criminal from Venezuela who had entered the country illegally under Joe Biden.

Republicans in Congress championed the Laken Riley Act to help ensure tragedies like Laken’s murder never happen again. But Democrats including Haley Stevens voted against the common-sense measure in the House of Representatives.

“The contrast could not be more clear,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell. “In the Senate, Mike Rogers would work with President Trump to ensure tragedies like Laken Riley’s never happen again, while Haley Stevens, Mallory McMorrow, and Abdul El-Sayed would rather defend criminal illegal aliens.”
