Today is the one year anniversary of President Trump signing the Laken Riley Act into law. Laken Riley was a 22-year-old nursing student who was brutally murdered in Georgia by a criminal from Venezuela who had entered the country illegally under Joe Biden. Republicans in Congress championed the Laken Riley Act to help ensure tragedies like Laken’s murder never happen again.
But radical leftist Sherrod Brown would have been a sure vote against the life-saving legislation.
“Sherrod Brown is an open borders radical who would have sided with Democrats over supporting common-sense legislation that keeps criminal illegals off the streets. Brown is a sell-out who puts illegals above the safety of Ohioans,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.
Sherrod Brown puts illegals first. Brown:
- Voted against Kate’s Law in 2015 – legislation which would set a mandatory minimum of five years imprisonment for deported felons who illegally re-entered the United States.
- Voted to give amnesty to as many as 11 million illegals.
- Supports sanctuary city policies which release dangerous criminal illegals onto the streets of Ohio.
- Voted against ensuring ICE has the necessary resources to detain and deport criminal illegals.
- Led a resolution labeling “immigration enforcement systems” as an example of “structural racism.”
