This time, Murphy told Fusion’s Jorge Ramos, “I’m an immigrant.” Murphy, who grew up in posh locales such as Key Largo’s Ocean Reef Club and Miami’s Fisher Island, is not an immigrant. He is not even the son of an immigrant. He is apparently, however, a chronic liar.
No wonder he’s gone into hiding. When you have to clean up after every public appearance, silence might really be the best option.

BUZZFEED: “Florida Rep. Patrick Murphy, a Democrat also running for the Senate seat currently held by Marco Rubio, said earlier this week that he is an immigrant. Murphy is not an immigrant. According to the biography on his House website, he was ‘born and raised in Florida, spending most of his childhood along the South Florida coast.’”
WASHINGTON EXAMINER: “Rep. Patrick Murphy, who is running for the Democratic nomination to the U.S. Senate seat occupied by Sen. Marco Rubio, declared earlier in the week that he is an ‘immigrant’ even though he is a native Floridian…The congressman has come under fire in the past for embellishing his resume and other aspects of his past.”
WASHINGTON FREE BEACON: “PATRICK MURPHY CLAIMS TO BE AN ‘IMMIGRANT,’ IS DEFINITELY NOT ONE…Murphy has also not had the typical immigrant upbringing. His father, Tom Murphy, Jr., owns a large Florida construction company that has done work on multiple Trump properties. The family owns a luxury yacht named Cocktails which Murphy has used throughout his campaign.”
MEDIAITE: “DEM SENATE CANDIDATE CLAIMS HE’S AN IMMIGRANT DURING INTERVIEW (NO, HE’S NOT)… Except Murphy is not an immigrant. Per his House bio, “Patrick was born and raised in Florida, spending most of his childhood along the South Florida coast.”
