Not so fast.
Murphy’s Monday started with a federal complaint filed by a watchdog group in response to possible illegal coordination between Murphy and his family-funded super PAC.
The complaint cites Murphy’s stake in Coastal Construction – valued at up to $5 million – as well as his financial ties to his father and Coastal CEO Tom Murphy. Tom Murphy and Coastal are the primary contributors to Patrick’s super PAC, totaling a half million dollars so far over the course of the campaign.
That’s not how you want to kick off your week when you’re trying to dig yourself out of a hole. And with headlines like these, Murphy is buried pretty deep:
