In fact, he managed to put himself at odds both with Florida voters as well as some of his most liberal colleagues.

Quinnipiac found that Murphy’s support for Obama’s nuclear deal is a loser with Floridians, who overwhelmingly believe Murphy’s position creates a major national security risk:

  • “Florida voters…oppose the nuclear pact with Iran 61 – 25 percent and say 61 – 27 percent the deal would make the world less safe rather than safer.” (Quinnipiac Press Release, 8/24/15)

After Congresswoman Lois Frankel announced her opposition to the deal this weekend, Murphy stood alone as the only member of the Palm Beach congressional delegation to support Obama’s nuclear giveaway. Frankel and her Palm Beach colleagues are perennially recognized as some of the most liberal members of Congress.

Across the board, Florida voters reject Murphy’s reckless support for President Obama’s nuclear giveaway. Murphy is stranded on an island of his own making, and not even his DSCC endorsement will save him this time.
