Murray’s Votes Against Funding to Fight the Fentanyl Flow

Washington, D.C. – Crime has skyrocketed in Washington State and drugs have ravaged the Evergreen State’s communities. Yesterday morning, NPR reported this sad news from Seattle:

Violent crime is often connected to drugs. Yet, 30-year incumbent Senator Patty Murray has voted multiple times against efforts to fight the flow of drugs into the Pacific Northwest.

  • NO to Fighting Drug Trafficking: Last year, Murray voted against a $300 million Republican measure to combat drug trafficking at the Southern border.
  • NO to Detecting Illegal Drugs: Earlier this month, Murray voted against a Republican measure to fund detection of illegal narcotics including opioids and fentanyl.

Washington State has a fentanyl crisis because America has a border crisis. But Murray has only voted to make things worse. Earlier this month:

  • NO to Funding Border Agents: Murray voted against a Republican measure to prioritize the hiring of border agents to combat drug trafficking over the hiring of IRS agents who are set to harass more middle-class taxpayers and small businesses.
  • NO to Securing Our Border: Murray voted against a Republican measure to keep Title 42 in place until our Southern border is secure to help stem the flow of drugs from Mexico.

Just from the looks of her voting record, Murray’s mantra seems to be to let the fentanyl flow.
