Ahead of tonight’s first Maine U.S. Senate debate, the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) released custom “Don’t Gamble on Gideon” playing cards.

The new “Don’t Gamble on Gideon” playing cards campaign highlights how Gideon has kept the legislature out of session during a pandemic and economic crisis so she could have time to campaign and go on vacation. The cards also remind voters that Gideon did nothing when made aware of an alleged sexual predator in her caucus.

“Mainers can’t risk gambling on Gideon,” said NRSC spokesperson Nathan Brand. “When Maine families needed leadership, Gideon could not be trusted to show up to do her job. Rather than addressing the economic crisis and pandemic, or doing anything about an alleged sexual predator in her caucus, Gideon folded and Mainers lost.”

TRANSCRIPT

When they relied on Sara Gideon to run the state legislature she disbanded it for 150 days to campaign.
When they needed her to help distribute coronavirus relief funds, she went on vacation to Bar Harbor.
When they needed her to protect young girls from a predatory state legislator, she ignored them.
Mainers know don’t gamble on Gideon.
There’s just too much at stake.
