Bill Nelson took to Twitter yesterday to play “Captain Planet” and feign concern about the toxic algae bloom impacting the environment and the communities surrounding Lake Okeechobee.
But in real life and after almost three decades in Congress, Captain Planet career politician Bill Nelson failed to secure federal funding for the dike at Lake Okeechobee that would have stopped the toxic algae before it hurt the community and the environment.
Maybe donning a cape would have made Nelson’s phony act more believable?
“Captain Planet Career politician Bill Nelson had all the time in the world to help protect the communities around Lake Okeechobee but did nothing. Now he is playing make believe to save his job,” said Camille Gallo, NRSC Spokesperson. “Unfortunately for him, Floridians know the real Bill Nelson is a phony and will give him a dose of reality in November.”
