Washington, D.C. – Mark Kelly wants you to think he is powerless against the forces in Washington *cough* Democrats *cough* that have caused rampant inflation, saying yesterday: “I’m an engineer, not an economist.”

Of course, if your career dictated what you could vote on, Kelly would only be able to talk about space…and how to collect checks from Chinese companies.

What’s CRAZY, however, is that Kelly says this while simultaneously being one of only 10 U.S. Senators that sit on the Joint Economic Committee!

To make his comment even more laughable, he spoke to an economic development organization the day before.  Looks like this unassuming engineer sure has a lot of economic input…

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: “As with border security, Mark Kelly tells Arizonans one thing and Washington insiders another.  Trying to avoid blame for inflation by claiming you’re a simple engineer while sitting on the Joint Economic Committee is an incredible answer that belongs in the B.S. Hall of Fame.”
