Esteban Vasallo Corteguera is a criminal illegal alien from Cuba arrested for dangerous drugs in Franklin, North Carolina. Corteguera has been charged with a laundry list of crimes, including kidnapping, assault, and selling methamphetamine.
But Roy Cooper turned North Carolina into a sanctuary state, allowing Corteguera to roam free and hurt North Carolinians despite his long rap sheet.
Cooper vetoed three pieces of legislation that would have required local sheriffs to cooperate with federal immigration authorities and get dangerous criminals like Corteguera off the streets.

“Corteguera is just another dangerous criminal illegal alien that Roy Cooper fought to protect from deportation. Thanks to Cooper and his far-left agenda, North Carolina is less safe,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia.
