Welcome to Roy Cooper’s Worst of the Worst Wednesday, your weekly reminder that Roy Cooper puts criminal illegals above North Carolinians and has made North Carolina less safe with his soft-on-crime sanctuary policies.

Jose Barajas-Diaz is an illegal from Mexico who was convicted in 2019 for felony death by motor vehicle.

But thanks to Roy Cooper vetoing anti-sanctuary city legislation and his soft-on-crime Democrat allies in Mecklenburg County, Diaz was let go to wreak more havoc on North Carolina communities.

“Criminal illegals like Diaz should stay behind bars then be immediately deported, but thanks to Roy Cooper’s weak, soft-on-crime policies, Diaz was turned loose. North Carolinians deserve a Senator who puts their safety first,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia
