If Heidi Heitkamp’s new ad is any indication, she’s out of new ideas. Heitkamp launched a “new” television ad today, but there’s one problem, it’s nearly identical to the same one she ran six years ago.
Heitkamp must be getting really desperate if she thinks she can get away with running the same campaign this time around. Especially considering that while serving in the US Senate for the last five and a half years, Heitkamp’s done nothing but consistently oppose the wishes of North Dakota voters. Here’s a quick rundown of what Heitkamp doesn’t want North Dakotans to know:
- She voted to keep Obama’s BLM methane rule in place, refused to crack down on sanctuary cities, opposed middle-class tax cuts, repeatedly supported Obamacare and high-fived Chuck Schumer after voting against a 5-month abortion ban
- She voted with Senate Democrats nearly 80 percent of the time (CQ Vote Studies, Accessed 4/7/18)
- She voted with Barack Obama 88 percent of the time (CQ Vote Studies, Accessed 4/7/18)
- She has taken over $1M from lawyers & lobbyists and has raised more than 90% of campaign cash from out-of-state donors
“Heidi Heitkamp is dead wrong if she thinks North Dakotans are going to forget about her abysmal record in the US Senate,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “Whether it was her vote to block middle-class tax cuts, refusal to crack down on sanctuary cities or her consistent support of Washington liberals, voters know they can’t count on Heitkamp to have their backs.”
