Washington, D.C. – It’s hard to make a reelection argument for Catherine Cortez Masto. As one of the least effective senators, Cortez Masto doesn’t have much of a record to tout. Cortez Masto’s record is so bad that Chuck Schumer and his cronies have resorted to propping her up with lies.

In another failed attempt to boost Cortez Masto, Schumer’s Majority Forward is airing a new ad in Nevada full of false claims. The lies are so egregious that the Washington Post just awarded it TWO PINOCCHIOS:

“Blink and you’ll miss it: This ad takes a sudden turn into deceptive territory between the second and third sentences.

“The 30-second spot is bankrolled by Majority Forward, a political advocacy group aligned with Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) that is not required to disclose its donors.

“Our beef is simple: The ad conflates two separate bills anchoring President Biden’s agenda. One has passed; the other hasn’t. One was bipartisan; the other has no Republican support […]

“We wavered between Two and Three Pinocchios because of the confused picture in the Nevada ad. Whether or not Majority Forward intended to deceive viewers, the effect is the same.”

While Cortez Masto’s D.C. special interest group allies are grasping at straws to save her, Nevada Democrats are switching parties a stunning clip. Nevada’s Jon Ralston warns “if this pattern continues well into 2022, it could well be the canary in the coal mine for a red wave.”

Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Katharine Cooksey: “Between the lies and the stunning lack of support at home, it is not shaping up to be a great day for Catherine Cortez Masto. Nevada has the highest unemployment rate in the nation, but all Cortez Masto does is blindly support Joe Biden’s inflation-inducing, job-killing agenda. Cortez Masto is abandoning Nevadans, and voters are taking notice.”
