With the Schumer Shutdown still fresh in the minds of Ohio voters, career politician Sherrod Brown has seen fit to bring the architect of that ill-advised political stunt to Columbus for a fundraiser.

Just weeks ago, Brown joined Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and their liberal colleagues to shut down the federal government and hold hostage a six-year extension of the CHIP program that 223,583 Ohio children rely on for health insurance, all to make a partisan, political point. With another funding deadline approaching next week, will Brown once again remain loyal to Schumer at the expense of Ohio families? After all, Schumer is coming all the way to Ohio to raise money for Brown to reward him for voting the party line 96% of the time. Is round two of the Schumer-Brown shutdown coming soon?

“Sherrod Brown has been a steadfast ally to Chuck Schumer, voting with the New York Senator 96% of the time, including their recent plots to shut down the government and deny tax cuts to hardworking Ohio families,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Chuck Schumer knows the best way to ensure the loyalty of career politicians like Sherrod Brown is to funnel money to their reelection campaigns, which is why Schumer is in Columbus this weekend.”
