After her vote last night against a tax cut for middle-class Missouri families, it’s clear Claire McCaskill is going to need all the help she can get as we head into 2018. And, like clockwork, Politico is reporting that McCaskill’s Cancun beach buddy, New York liberal Sen. Chuck Schumer, is coming to the rescue:
“Majority Forward, a Democratic nonprofit with ties to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, is launching digital ads highlighting the 50 town halls that Missouri Sen. Claire McCaskill held in 2017. The statewide campaign is backed by a six-figure buy and will run on Facebook and other platforms.”
Schumer’s dark money is flowing into Missouri despite McCaskill repeatedly telling constituents to ignore all ads from outside groups in her race. Will McCaskill tell Schumer to stop spending on her behalf? Or will she hypocritically continue to benefit from liberal dark money?
“Claire McCaskill is one of Chuck Schumer’s most loyal foot soldiers, so it’s no surprise his dark money is already pouring into Missouri,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “After McCaskill’s vote against putting more money in the pockets of Missouri families last night, Washington Democrats like Schumer know her reelection campaign is in serious trouble.”
