Today, President Trump confirmed that he would announce his nominee to the Supreme Court next week. But Senate Democrats, under the leadership of Chuck Schumer are already signaling that they will reflexively oppose the President’s pick for the Court. And just minutes ago, Schumer doubled down on his policy of obstruction, vowing to “fight tooth and nail” against President Trump’s nominee.

Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has threatened to block confirmation of President Trump’s appointee to the Supreme Court and “keep the seat open.”
Schumer’s threat of obstructionism comes before a nominee has even been named, illustrating just how nakedly political Democrats’ opposition is.
Just months ago, Schumer and Senate Democrats were adamant that nominees to the Supreme Court must be quickly considered and voted on.
But now that a Republican President is selecting the nominee, Democrats have changed their tune.

“Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats’ plan to obstruct President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court before that nominee has even been announced is completely indefensible,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Senate Democrats’ hypocritical refusal to respect the results of the election shows they have no interest in governing, and are interested only in making political statements.”
