WASHINGTON – Knowing that the facts are not on their side, Senate Democrats have given up on an honest debate, and embraced a strategy of lying to the American people about the Republican tax cut plan.

New York liberal Minority Leader Chuck Schumer has been making some of the most egregiously false statements, claiming the bill will increase middle-class “taxes but slash them for big corporations.” And his red state Democrat colleagues have been following suit, siding with Schumer over hardworking folks at home. It’s clear this is part of a brash attempt by Senate Democrats to misinform the American public by circulating partisan talking points instead of facts.

“Chuck Schumer and his red state Democrat colleagues have tried to mislead folks at home with false statements about the GOP tax relief plan, but the facts are not on their side,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “It’s clear Democrats care only about furthering their partisan agenda and are willing to lie to the American people to do so.”
