Senate Democrats released details of their “Better Deal” platform on outsourcing today in a Medium post coauthored by Senators Schumer, Stabenow, Casey and Baldwin. But notably absent from their byline was their outsourcing colleague, Mexico Joe Donnelly.
It’s especially noteworthy that Mexico Joe was left out by his Democrat colleagues, since Donnelly appeared at the press conference announcing the plan last month. Perhaps his fellow Washington Democrats realized that talking about outsourcing with a Senator who profited from his family business shipping manufacturing jobs to Mexico wasn’t the best idea.
“Mexico Joe Donnelly should be concerned that even his fellow Senate Democrats are embarrassed to be associated with him after his outsourcing scandal,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Mexico Joe’s outsourcing profits are leaving him increasingly isolated, both in Washington and at home, and will continue to haunt him throughout his doomed reelection campaign.”
