As Sherrod Brown debuts his second dubious TV ad today, fact checkers are already calling him out for lying to Ohio voters in his first ad.

Rating his ad “Mostly False,” Politifact tears down Brown’s false claim that Jim Renacci was a lobbyist, as well as his grossly misleading characterization of multiple House votes:

“Democrats have long portrayed Renacci as a lobbyist. But what this ad omits is that while he was registered to lobby, there is no evidence he actually lobbied. And in fact, it wouldn’t make sense for a member of Congress to work as a lobbyist at the same time. The ad also gives viewers no context about the votes cited.”

It’s clear that Sherrod Brown knows he is in deep trouble this November because of his wildly out-of-step voting record, and is willing to say anything to continue his 43-year-old career in politics.
