When Sleepin’ Joe Donnelly announced he was selling out Hoosiers and voting no on Judge Brett Kavanaugh, he cited the need for an FBI investigation. But now that the very investigation he called for is nearing completion, Sleepin’ Joe is admitting he was full of it from the start.
The Washington Post reports that Sleepin’ Joe opposed Judge Kavanaugh all along, and the results of the investigation he asked for will be irrelevant to his vote. It’s now clearer than ever that Sleepin’ Joe planned to oppose Judge Kavanaugh all along to appease Chuck Schumer and his liberal base and was just reaching for an excuse.
“Sleepin’ Joe Donnelly’s opposition to Judge Brett Kavanaugh was always about trying to lock down his liberal base before Election Day, and nothing else,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Sleepin’ Joe planned to oppose Judge Kavanaugh from the start and will have plenty of time to explain to Hoosiers why he lied to them when his retirement begins in November.”
