Sleepin’ Joe Donnelly is up with a new TV ad bragging about how he “works hard” for Hoosiers. But the truth is that in more than a decade in Washington, Sleepin’ Joe has done, well, nothing.
Just last year, a nonpartisan study from the University of Virginia and Vanderbilt University found that Sleepin’ Joe was the least effective Democrat in the United States Senate. In fact, Sleepin’ Joe has never sponsored a single bill that has become law. If that’s Sleepin’ Joe’s definition of hard work, he needs to go back to that factory floor for more than a TV ad shoot.
“Sleepin’ Joe Donnelly’s sad attempts to define himself as a hard-working legislator are undercut by his do-nothing record in Congress,” said NRSC Spokesman Bob Salera. “Sleepin’ Joe is the least effective Democrat in the U.S. Senate, and he simply hasn’t gotten the job done for Hoosiers over his more than a decade in Washington.”
