By announcing her intention to join Chuck Schumer’s filibuster of Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court, Senator Debbie Stabenow has made it clear she would rather be a rubber stamp for radical Democratic leadership than stand up for Michiganders.

In light of Judge Gorsuch’s unassailable qualifications and vast judicial experience, it’s clear Stabenow’s decision to obstruct his confirmation is strictly political: she is more afraid of backlash from her far-left colleagues than from folks back home. Debbie Stabenow has been under fire from her own party on Gorsuch’s confirmation and is refusing to represent her constituents on Gorsuch’s confirmation by siding with liberals in Washington.

“Debbie Stabenow is clearly more interested in playing petty partisan games than representing Michiganders,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Voters will remember Stabenow siding with the liberal elite in Washington over them when they head to the polls in 2018.”
