Wanted to flag Jon Tester’s comments from December of 2017 where he said shutting down the government was “stupid talk.”

From The Hill:

“‘I think it’s stupid talk. You don’t want to shut the government down. That’s not where I’m going to be,’ said Sen. Jon Tester (D-Mont.), who is running for reelection in a state Trump won by more than 20 points over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. Tester said he wants the Dreamers taken care of, but ‘you don’t shut the government down.’”

Flash forward to January of 2018 where Tester voted TWICE to shut down the government. Guess Tester is taking the “New Year, New You” motto to heart. Unfortunately for Tester, his decision to shut down the government has already been polled by Democrats in Montana and it’s a loser.
