WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) is standing with Maine’s veterans and service members by voting in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) today. The NDAA delivers military pay raises, strengthens the job-creating defense industrial base, and eliminates wasteful and radical programs.
“Susan Collins delivers for Maine veterans and families, while Janet Mills and Graham Platner supported shutting down our government and halting pay for our troops just to give illegal aliens free healthcare,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Samantha Cantrell.
Senator Collins’ legislation included in the NDAA:
- An amendment to help achieve full Berry Amendment compliance for combat footwear by FY2028.
- An amendment to strengthen the skilled trades pipeline at public shipyards, including at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.
- Legislation to expand the Department of War’s ability to combat illegal drone activity.
