Once again, Phil Bredesen is saying one thing and doing another. Despite claiming he doesn’t support Democrats’ call to abolish ICE, Bredesen was more than happy to accept campaign donations from the movement’s ringleader Kirsten Gillibrand.

Bredesen’s bait-and-switch is becoming a common theme of his campaign. Thus far, he’s claimed “he would not be contributing any personal money into his race,” only to turn around and lend himself $3.45 million. He also has been happy to proclaim he would support President Trump when his policies are good for Tennesseans, only to criticize the tax cuts saving hardworking families money as “crumbs.”

“Tennesseans can’t get a straight answer out of Phil Bredesen,” said NRSC Spokesman Michael McAdams. “The only thing voters can count on is when push comes to shove, Phil Bredesen is going to be in the pocket of Chuck Schumer and will be a rubber stamp for Democrats’ radical agenda of open borders and higher taxes.”
