With President-elect Trump preparing to be sworn in tomorrow, the Senate is gearing up to begin confirmation votes on his nominees for key Cabinet positions. Predictably, Tammy Baldwin has already staked out a position on the far left.

Last week, in an 81-17 vote, the U.S. Senate cleared the way for General James Mattis to serve as Secretary of Defense. Among those 17 “No” votes were a who’s who of the Senate’s most extreme liberals, including Elizabeth Warren, and Wisconsin’s own Tammy Baldwin. With Mattis’s final confirmation vote expected to come before the full Senate tomorrow, will Baldwin see the light and respect the wishes of Wisconsin voters? Or will she stick with her far-left pals and vote against the highly-decorated General?

“Tammy Baldwin shamefully joined the radical, Elizabeth Warren wing of her party in an attempt to block General James Mattis from serving as Secretary of Defense just last week,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “There is a clear choice Tammy has to make tomorrow – stand with Elizabeth Warren and the far left or do what’s best for folks in Wisconsin and vote to confirm an American hero.”
