Remember when Senator Tester promised he was going to meet with Judge Kavanaugh? Turns out he was lying the entire time.

First, Tester claimed he had scheduled a meeting with President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, but that it was canceled at the last minute by the White House.

Then over the weekend, reports confirmed there was in fact “no cancellation by the White House” because “no meeting” was actually on the books, despite there being ample time for the two to meet.

Now Tester’s been forced to backtrack and changed his story to say that he “misspoke” and that the meeting never came together because of scheduling conflicts.

Point is: Tester got caught lying and now he’s trying to change his tune. But rather than coming up with all these phony excuses, wouldn’t it have been a little easier for Tester just to admit he planned to stonewall Kavanaugh all along?

“Only a politician who’s been in the Washington swamp as long as Jon Tester would think he could tell Montanans such blatant lies and get away with it,” said NRSC Spokesman Calvin Moore. “Tester voted for 99% of President Obama’s liberal judicial nominees, but can’t even find time to meet with President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court. Montanans keep their word and it’s a shame voters can’t count on Jon Tester to do the same.”
