Jon Tester is up to his old tricks again, trying to raise money by “attacking” dark money spending. The problem for Tester is that he has welcomed all the outside spending that helped him this past year. In fact, last year Democrat outside dark money organizations spent more than $1 million on behalf of Tester.
Tester has not only changed his tune on outside spending but he also continues to show his dark money hypocrisy….
February 2017: “I’m certainly not going let a group come in that’s funded by folks outside the state of Montana.”(KPAX, 2/22/2017)
May 2017: “I don’t have the money for ads right now… Tester goes on to say– he appreciates anyone who would try to help.” (ABC-Missoula, 5/30/2017)
He is also raising big money outside of Montana…
In 2017, 85% of Tester’s individual contributions were from out-of-state. (Montanans For Tester, FEC Report)

This is just another example of Jon Tester saying one thing to Montana families and doing another in Washington. He can’t have it both ways if he is serious about increasing transparency and ending “dark money” in politics he should publicly denounce these Democrat organizations and donate all the money that has been spent on his behalf.
