Today kicks off Senator Bob Menendez’s trial where he’s facing several corruption charges, including conspiracy to commit bribery and fraud. The corrupt New Jersey Senator, and soon to be convict, has been a long contributor to his Senate colleagues – and he’s funneled money towards his BFF Jon Tester.

Menendez was indicted in 2015 for being bribed with private jets and exclusive trips, but it looks like Tester’s cozy relationship with Menendez comes with some perks of its own. Even as recently as six months ago, Senator Menedez’s New Millennium PAC contributed $10K to Tester’s reelection campaign.

The biggest questions for Tester today are will he return the money he received from the corrupt New Jersey Senator and why did he take it two years after Menendez was indicted?

“Instead of accepting $10K in campaign cash, you’d think Jon Tester would be distancing himself from a colleague facing charges of corruption,” said NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin. “This is yet another example of Tester being a DC sellout and not the humble Montanan he plays when talking to folks back home.”
