Jon Tester’s decision to filibuster Judge Gorsuch is disappointing to say the least. Tester has turned his back on Montana families and shown his true colors with this decision. Despite local tribes, the Montana Chamber of Commerce, women’s organizations, grassroots leaders all backing Judge Gorsuch, Tester chose his liberal Democrat friends in Washington over Montana families.

It didn’t have to be this way. Several of Tester’s fellow 2018 Red State Democrats will vote to confirm Judge Gorsuch because a majority of Americans wanted a confirmation vote for Judge Gorsuch.

  • Poll: Most want Senate Dems to allow Gorsuch vote. “A majority of Americans say Senate Democrats should allow a confirmation vote for President Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, according to a new poll. Fifty-four percent of respondents in the NBC News/Survey Monkey poll released Thursday say Judge Neil Gorsuch should get an up-or-down vote, while 37 percent say Senate Democrats should block it.” (The Hill, 3/30/2017)

It’s clear that Jon Tester didn’t learn anything from the November election and doesn’t understand Montana values. He would rather stand up for liberal special interests in Washington than side with Montana families.

MONTANA LEADERS ENDORSE JUDGE GORSUCH:

The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation, Fort Peck, Fort Belknap and Crow Tribes have all endorsed Judge Gorsuch.

The Montana state director for Concerned Women for America asks Jon Tester to ignore “faux pressure from the left” and support Judge Gorsuch.

The Montana state director of Americans for Prosperity says Tester should abide by his past statements and support Gorsuch’s confirmation “without any unnecessary delay.”

The Montana Chamber of Commerce endorsed Judge Gorsuch, saying he has a “a well-established record as a mainstream judge who upholds the rule.”
