Washington, D.C. – Wisconsin Democrat Senate candidate Mandela Barnes headlined an event for the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD), a liberal group that aims to defund the police and abolish ICE. During the event, Barnes also touted their endorsement of his campaign. No surprise there considering his radical ideology, including his refusal to oppose defunding the police.
This is on brand with the people and groups Barnes has been associating with on the campaign trail and we don’t expect it to end anytime soon. The Barnes Brigade is full of defund-the-police-supporting, Israel-hating, socialism-loving radicals.
Statement from NRSC Spokeswoman Lizzie Litzow: “This is just another example of the radical groups Mandela Barnes keeps in his Brigade and continues to add to his list of supporters. As we’ve said before, the company Barnes keeps is an indication of how liberal and radical he really is. It’s plain and simple – Barnes is way too liberal for Wisconsinites, but he doesn’t seem to care.”
