Which is too bad, because he just turned 33, and his dad probably threw him an epic birthday party. But even though Patrick’s dad can stroke six-figure checks to a super PAC that Patrick finds reprehensible on every level – no, really, he does – he can’t buy his son a positive headline.
Florida Politics: “A poll commissioned by two progressive Democrats’ groups supporting Alan Grayson finds that the Orlando congressman leads U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy in a tight race for the Democratic nomination for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat. The poll, commissioned by Progressive Change Campaign Committee and Democracy For America, was conducted by Public Policy Polling on March 23 and 24, and gave Grayson 33 percent and Murphy, of Jupiter, 32 percent.”
- BONUS: “When the respondents were told, ‘The national Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has endorsed Congressman Patrick Murphy in the U.S. Senate primary. Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid has publicly called on Alan Grayson to drop out of the race,’ 15 percent said they were more likely to support Murphy and 24 percent said they were more likely to support Grayson.”
Tampa Bay Times: “Patrick Murphy: I Hate Super PACs But Here’s Some Video They Can Use…The 5 minute 42 second video posted on the Democratic U.S. Senate candidate’s campaign website isn’t for the public. It’s ‘b-roll’ to be used by super PACs or another related outside group that wants to make an ad on Murphy’s behalf…This is how candidates in both parties get around the law barring direct coordination with super PACs and it’s notable given Murphy’s public stance against the super PAC era, calling it ‘gross.’”
Orlando Sentinel: “U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson received the backing of two of the biggest national grassroots progressive groups in his campaign for U.S. Senate. Progressive Change Campaign Committee, a Washington, D.C.-based PAC, and Democracy for America, based in Vermont, both endorsed Grayson Tuesday in his race for the Democratic nomination for Senate against U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Jupiter.”

The Hill: “Alan Grayson Snags Big Endorsments In Fla. Senate Race…The Tuesday endorsements give Grayson a huge boost as he seeks the Democratic nomination for the seat vacated by former GOP hopeful Marco Rubio.”
- Sunshine State News: “Biden campaigned in South Florida with Murphy on Monday…But liberals aren’t quite ready to coronate Murphy. On Tuesday, liberal group Democracy for America (DFA) and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee (PCCC) threw their support behind Grayson. With more than 75,000 members in Florida, DFA Chairman Jim Dean, the brother of former Gov. Howard Dean, D-Vt., insisted his group could help Grayson prevail. Dean had kind words for the Central Florida Democrat on Tuesday.”
Florida Politics: “U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson pulled in a third progressive group endorsement this week with a nod Wednesday from People For the American Way in support of his run for the Democratic nomination for Florida’s U.S. Senate seat.”
