Today, Tina Smith (D-MN) voted against the Laken Riley Act for the fourth time. The bipartisan legislation would require the detainment of illegal migrants accused of theft, burglary and other related crimes.
“The brutal murder of 22-year-old college student Laken Riley was completely avoidable, and the bipartisan Laken Riley Act will prevent tragedies like it from happening again,” said NRSC Regional Press Secretary Nick Puglia. “Yet, Tina Smith has voted against it repeatedly. Minnesotans who want safer communities must take a stand and retire Tina Smith in 2026.”
