WASHINGTON, D.C. — With Election Day one month away, the National Republican Senatorial Committee released a new video calling on voters to hold the line against Democrats’ socialist march in the record number of toss-up races that will determine control of the Senate.
“American freedom, safety, and prosperity are on the line as a record number of toss-up Senate races stand between the American people and socialist Democrats taking control of Congress,” said NRSC Communications Director Joanna Rodriguez. “The choice facing voters is clear: if you believe socialism has no place in the United States Senate, then you must reject terrorist sympathizers like Abdul El-Sayed and corrupt losers like Troy Jackson, Sherrod Brown, and Mary Peltola.”
BACKGROUND
History’s political headwinds won’t be enough for Democrats this midterm cycle:
- As CNN’s chief data analyst pointed out, MAGA Republicans’ appetite to turn out this midterm cycle is polling at near parity with Democrats across a Senate map where registered Republicans outnumber registered Democrats.
- Republicans have been underestimated nationally by three points in 2014, three points in 2016, five points in 2020, and three points in 2024. If the polls doubt Republicans by roughly the same margin this year, as previous cycles, CNN projects a 53 – 47 Republican Senate majority.
- Meanwhile, a new analysis by Patrick Ruffini this week shows Senate polling from 2018 – 2024 overstated Democrats across Iowa, Ohio, and Michigan by an average of 6.2 points 33 days before Election Day, and counted out ultimate GOP winners like Joni Ernst and Bernie Moreno.
