VP Pence to Brown: Confirm Kavanaugh
In his speech this afternoon in Cincinnati, Vice President Mike Pence criticized Sherrod Brown for his obstruction on everything from tax cuts to his vote against Justice Neil Gorsuch. And the Vice President called out Brown for once again politicizing the Supreme Court:
“Judge Brett Kavanaugh is a man of integrity, with a proven record of support for limited government, the Second Amendment and religious liberty, and he deserves the support of every member of the United States Senate. And I call on Senator Sherrod Brown today – set politics aside. Senator, give our nominee a fair hearing and the support he deserves. If Sherrod Brown won’t vote to confirm a judge like Brett Kavanaugh, Ohio needs to send us a new Senator who will.”
With more of his red state colleagues meeting with Judge Kavanaugh this week, the pressure is on for Sherrod Brown to step up and do the right thing. If he chooses instead to follow the lead of Chuck Schumer and his liberal colleagues, Brown will have to answer to Ohio voters in November.
