Following yesterday’s announcement that Walt Disney Co. would give $1,000 bonuses to over 125,000 workers, Starbucks announced pay raises and expanded benefits for 150,000 employees nationwide.
The Seattle-based company will be giving employees paid sick time off as well as expanding paid paternity and maternity leave. These benefits will impact thousands of full-time, part-time and hourly employees across the country. Next time you see a red state Democrat sipping on their morning coffee, someone should ask them what they think about voting against these massive pay raises.
“Red state Senate Democrats refuse to acknowledge that they made a huge miscalculation by voting against the GOP tax relief plan,” said Caitlin Gallagher, NRSC Spokeswoman. “Starbucks is only the latest example of businesses, both large and small, giving back to hardworking Americans. When the economy wins so do taxpayers, and it’s too bad red state Democrats didn’t support these massively successful tax cuts.”
