The Washington Examiner reports Jon Tester touted “a record of someone who is a China hawk” in his new ad, “but his past statements tell a different story.”

In February, Tester said the Chinese spy balloon that floated over Montana’s Malmstrom Air Force Base “doesn’t put our national security at risk.” But now, he says we should have never accepted a balloon invading our airspace.

In March, Tester said he supported an outright TikTok ban. Months later, Tester said Montana shouldn’t ban the “silly app” while he received $5,250 in campaign donations from lobbyists for TikTok.

NRSC Statement: “Election year flip flops won’t help Tester hide from his record of being weak on China.” – NRSC Spokeswoman Maggie Abboud
