NRSC Weekly Rundown: more tax ads, #NationalHighFiveDay, tax cut benefits keeping coming and more!

And here’s this week’s edition of the NRSC Weekly Rundown:

#TaxDay: The NRSC re-upped tax-focused digital ads, which have been a part of a five-figure digital campaign, currently running in the ten 2018 states won by President Trump with Democrat incumbents, as well as Arizona and Nevada. Folks at home deserve to know that Senate Democrats intend to repeal the tax cuts and raise taxes if given the opportunity.

National: Democrats doubled down on their tax hike messaging and held a rallyadvocating for the repeal of the successful GOP tax cuts. Red state Democrats across the map will face serious election consequences if their party runs on a platform of repealing the tax cuts that are putting more money in American families’ pockets.

#NationalHighFiveDay: In honor of Heidi Heitkamp’s favorite holiday, the NRSC reminded North Dakotans of Heidi’s famous high five with Chuck Schumer after voting against a five month abortion ban. Instead of representing folks at home, Heitkamp has been opposing the issues most important to them.

#WVSen: Joe Manchin’s campaign finance report revealed Mylan executives doled out over $50,000 to his campaign, coming as no surprise since Manchin’s own daughter rose in ranks to CEO of Mylan as he rose in political power. Just weeks after Manchin raked in their campaign cash, Mylan announced that it laid off 15% of the workers at its Morgantown plant. Manchin also took in over $80,000 in campaign cash at a glitzy Hollywood fundraiser. Seems Manchin’s more of a California Democrat after all.

#NVSen: Jacky Rosen sold out Nevada’s veterans when she chose to attend a California fundraiser with admitted traitor Jane Fonda. And if that weren’t bad enough, she also got called out for claiming she would never repeal middle-class tax cuts despite reports on local tv saying the exact opposite earlier this year.

#WISen: In her new ad, Tammy Baldwin claims to have a record of “eliminating regulations” and taking on “federal bureaucrats” in the cheese industry. But any Wisconsinite familiar with the far-left Senator’s record knows the ad is just a desperate attempt to appear more moderate in an increasingly difficult political landscape.

#INSen: In his first TV ad of the cycle, Mexico Joe Donnelly presents himself as a bipartisan problem-solver in DC. But Mexico Joe was ranked the least effective Democrat in the Senate and has yet to have a bill he sponsored signed into law. Mexico Joe can’t hide his nonexistent record of achievement from Hoosiers.

#TNSen: Tennessee-based McKee Foods announced employees would be receiving $1,000 bonuses thanks to the GOP tax cuts. But in a New York Times interview, Phil Bredesen joined with Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi in calling bonuses and pay raises from the newly passed tax cuts “crumbs.” Bredesen’s moderate rhetoric won’t fool Tennesseans into believing he’s anything but another liberal Democrat dead-set on taking away their extra cash.

#OHSen: Kroger Foods gave Ohioans another reason to celebrate tax reform this week when they announced plans to hire 11,000 new employees and invest $500 million in wages and training for associates over the next three years. But despite the widespread success of the GOP tax relief, Sherrod Brown and his liberal colleagues want to repeal the tax cuts putting food on the tables of Ohio families.
