Bill Nelson had a disastrous week. One might even call it a train wreck—except in this case it looks like the Nelson train didn’t even bother to leave the station.

So, let’s pile on and take a look back at Bill Nelson’s terrible week:

  • A pro-Scott Super PAC hit the airwaves with a $3.5 million ad buy attacking Nelson’s long political career.
  • A new poll showed that Governor Rick Scott is leading Bill Nelson by 9-points among older Floridians.
  • Two additional polls showed Bill Nelson losing in November (HERE and HERE).
  • Governor Scott received the endorsement of 56 sheriffs, including 9 Democrats, and the unprecedented endorsement of the Florida Police Chiefs Association.
  • Governor Scott released a new attack ad against Bill Nelson AND a new Spanish-language ad bringing his total ad count to 11 for the cycle.
  • Bill Nelson was hit with a brutal article highlighting his lack of outreach to Florida’s Hispanic communities and his campaign was left scrambling to respond.

All while more and more Democrats are fretting about the state of Bill Nelson’s lagging campaign.  With a week like this, who can blame them?
